Cheil Worldwide is a tech-driven advertising agency with a global team of over 7,000 employees, including 70+ based in Sydney, Australia. We specialise in a broad range of marketing services, including digital, events, creative, retail, and film. This role primarily focuses on working with our key client, Samsung Consumer Electronics.

Primary Function

This is a full-time role on a one-year fixed-term contract, with the potential for extension. Based at our Olympic Park, Sydney offices, working hours will generally be in the afternoon and evening, depending on livestream production schedules.

The Scriptwriter will be responsible for crafting compelling, clear, and engaging scripts for live product broadcasts, demos, and interactive events. This role requires strong writing skills, a deep understanding of brand messaging, and the ability to adapt to fast-paced, dynamic environments. You’ll work closely with product teams, creative directors, and broadcast producers to deliver high-quality, impactful scripts that align with both the product's vision and the audience’s expectations.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Write engaging, clear, and effective scripts for live product broadcasts, including product demonstrations, launches, and interactive events.
  • Work closely with product managers, creative directors, and broadcast teams to understand the objectives of each live broadcast and create scripts that align with the brand’s voice and the product’s key messages.
  • Craft storytelling narratives that resonate with audiences, ensuring that the product story is clear, engaging, and memorable throughout the live event.
  • Write scripts that can adapt to live, real-time changes, including last-minute product feature updates, technical adjustments, or unexpected shifts in the broadcast flow.
  • Collaborate with the production team to ensure that scripts are aligned with the overall technical setup and broadcast flow, including timing for product demos, speaker cues, and transitions.
  • Ensure consistency in tone, voice, and messaging that matches the brand and engages the target audience. Adjust language and style as needed for different types of broadcasts (e.g., formal vs. casual, educational vs. promotional).
  • Develop interactive script elements (e.g., calls to action, audience polls, Q&A sessions) that encourage engagement and participation during live events.
  • Stay up-to-date on product details, industry trends, and competitive products to ensure scripts are relevant, accurate, and aligned with market needs.
  • Review and revise scripts based on feedback from stakeholders, ensuring that the final version is polished, error-free, and ready for broadcast.
  • Provide on-the-fly script revisions or updates during live events, responding to any unforeseen changes or developments in real time.

Qualifications and Experience

  • 3+ years of experience writing scripts for live broadcasts, digital content, or product-related media. Experience with live streaming or event-based content is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of live broadcast production and technical processes (e.g., how scripts align with cues and visuals in live broadcasts) is a plus.
  • Experience writing for product demos, live events, or interactive broadcasts.
  • Knowledge of audience engagement techniques, especially for live broadcasts or digital product launches.
  • Familiarity with digital marketing or branding practices.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced agency or media environment.

  • Strong creative thinking with the ability to tell compelling stories that engage and inform viewers, while driving product messaging and brand identity.
